The Lemonheads Prep New LP

The first Lemonheads record in 10 years (2006's self-titled effort) isn't going to be their last. Frontman Evan Dando has confirmed another album for release in April 2008, telling Billboard, "Yeah, there is new music, and I'll be recording in January. But I don't want to talk about the record too much."

Well, all right then. Dando did talk about a couple of other things, though, including a deluxe edition of the 1992 classic It's a Shame About Ray (due out in March with demos, B-sides, and a DVD) and an upcoming tour with new Lemonheads members, drummer Bill Stevenson and bassist Karl Alvarez.

"After touring for 10 months, we've given [our last album] a fair shake, but the exciting part of the next tour is that it's with the people who actually played on the album," Dando said. "It's like a rebirth of the record."
