Of Montreal Lead Plug Award Nods
The fourth annual PLUG Independent Music Awards has announced the nominees for its 2008 show, spread across 30 categories that cover everything from music blogs to album art, with a long list of dearly beloved record stores, festivals and venues found somewhere in between. Indie pop act Of Montreal leads the pack with seven nominations, including album, song and artist of the year. Arcade Fire and Justice came in a close second with six nods each, The National and Band of Horse are both up for five awards, and Spoon and El-P are facing the possibility of taking home four.A full list of nomineeschosen by a "cartel" of independent publishers, musicians, journalists and moreand an online voting form can be found here. The award ceremony itself takes place on February 8 at the new New York City venue Terminal 5.
