'Thriller' Turns 25, Earns Rerelease

Kanye West, will.i.am and Akon have all signed on for the 25th Anniversary Edition of Thriller, a CD/DVD reissue that's due out on February 12. Michael Jackson's career-defining disc came out 25 years ago today and was certified 27x platinum in 2005. (Yes, that's 27 million copies.) Epic/Legacy's expanded version includes unreleased tracks, rarities, and music videos from a demo version of "Billie Jean" to non-album tracks like "Someone in the Dark" and "Carousel."

As for new jams, West remixed "Billie Jean" and will.i.am tweaked "P.Y.T." and "The Girl Is Mine." The latter also collaborated with Akon on an updated version of "Wanna Be Startin' Something."
