Tom Petty Signs On For Super Bowl Halftime Show
The Super Bowl has snagged Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for this February's halftime show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. The North American branch of Bridgestone Corp., a Japanese tire company, will sponsor the event. Petty's performance comes just four years after Janet Jackson ignited the ire of a TiVo nation.Other recent mid-game headliners have included The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, U2 and a somewhat tame Prince. (Emphasis on somewhat, as his Elvis-esque stage moves still managed to offend some.)
