Stephen Malkmus Reunites With the Jicks

Real Emotional Trash, the first solo album from Stephen Malkmus since 2005's Face the Truth, is set to hit stores March 4 through Matador. Former Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss joined Malkmus' old backing band The Jicks—last heard on 2003's Pig Lib—on the effort, which was recorded by TJ Doherty (Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady) at SnowGhost Studios in Whitefish, MT.

Malkmus and friends will hit the road sometime around the release of Real Emotional Trash. The former Pavement frontman should be revealing specific dates soon.
