Mountain Goats Launch Brief Tour in Alaska

In case you haven't already heard, a new Mountain Goats album is on the way through 4AD on February 19. It's called Heretic Pride and features appearances from St. Vincent, Franklin Bruno, Jon Wurster of Superchunk and more.

With that in mind, lead Goat herder John Darnielle will bring his band on a brief North American tour starting February 19 in Anchorage, AK, and wrapping up with two shows in West Hollywood, CA. Jeffrey Lewis and his new backing band, the Jitters, open all dates except for that whole Alaska thing. His collection of Crass covers, appropriately entitled 12 Crass Songs, is out now in the UK and Europe, and will see a U.S. release in January 2008. According to Lewis' Web site, www.thejeffreylewissite.com, half of the proceeds from album sales will be donated to humanitarian charities and causes.
