The White Stripes Consider Tour-less Future

    Tue, 11 Dec 2007 12:05:52

Jack says it's all up to Meg

When The White Stripes canceled their entire Icky Thump tour in September, most people assumed Meg White needed a break from the road, what with reports of the drummer's "acute anxiety" and all. A recent interview with the Los Angeles Times suggested something much more dire, however: the possibility of the Stripes never touring again.

"I guess it's up to Meg," frontman Jack White said. "The Beatles [quit touring but continued as a band]. I'm joking, but if we didn't ever tour again it wouldn't matter to me."

He added, "There are so many different aspects to being creative that it doesn't matter if one component is changed. It's been changing all the time since the band started."

    Um, new Raconteurs album, anyone?
