'U2 3D' Film Hits Theaters Next Month
The first live action movie to be shot, edited and shown in 3-D isn't some Spielberg opus. It's U2 3D, a 92-minute concert film set to premiere in select cities on January 25. Co-directors Catherine Owens (U2's visual content director for more than 15 years) and Mark Pellington (see the band's "One" video) trimmed 700 hours of footage from seven shows and nine pairs of Sony CineAlta 3-D cameras for the project, leaving a 15-song presentation from the "Vertigo" tour in their wake. For full details on the film and a teaser of a trailer, go to www.u23dmovie.com.
