The Band, Burt Bacharach Among Lifetime Grammy Honorees
The Recording Academy has named its latest string of Lifetime Achievement award winners. They are: The Band, Burt Bacharach, Doris Day, Max Roach, Cab Calloway, Earl Scruggs and the Israeli violinist Itzak Perlman. While each artist will be honored at a private ceremony on February 9, they will also be mentioned a day later at the 50th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles' Staples Center. To give you an idea of what kind of company they will now keep, The Doors, The Grateful Dead, and Joan Baez received a similar treatment earlier this year.
