Eminem Spends the Holidays in a Hospital

Eminem's publicist has cleared up a TMZ report about the rapper's current health situation. Well, at least part of it. According to Dennis Dennehy, he was "under [a] doctor's care at a Detroit-area hospital" over the holidays "for complications due to pneumonia. He has since been released and is doing well recovering at home." Dennehy didn't confirm or deny TMZ's other claim: the fact that he had recently gained weight—maxing out at more than 200 pounds—and was also suffering from a heart ailment.

As for his strangely quiet place in the rap game as of late, Eminem is currently working on his follow-up to the 2004 LP, Encore. "I'm always working—I'm always in the studio. It feels good right now, the energy of the label," he said in a call to New York's Hot 97 in September. "For a while, I didn't want to go back to the studio...I went through some personal things. I'm coming out of those personal things [and] it feels good."
