Nate Dogg Suffers a Mild Stroke
Details on the condition of Nate Dogg—he suffered a mild stroke over the holidays—are finally trickling in from his press representative, Rod McGrew. According to MTV News, Dogg is currently receiving treatment in an occupational rehab facility after the stroke paralyzed the left side of his body. McGrew said he expects a full recovery from the former Death Row Records star, however, as he did not suffer any brain damage."Time will tell everything, obviously," McGrew explained. "The doctor can only guess what the outcome will be, but based on situations with similar people his age, and based on his health, the prognosis is good right now."
One of the main problems Nate Dogg (real name: Nathaniel Hale) is facing after the stroke is "neural-muscular issues that have to be jump-started." That includes his sense of touch and ability to walk straight.
Media interest in Nate Dogg's condition has caused a considerable amount of distress in his camp, especially a recent TMZ recording of his girlfriend's 911 call. Some bloggers took it as an opportunity to mock her lack of emotion considering the severity of the situation.
"I'm not sure what people are trying to glean from that tape," McGrew said. "The diagnosis is what it is, and the prognosis is what it is: He had a stroke. The media wants to create something, but I'm not sure what the point is. If you had an emergency and someone was in your presence, they would call 911."
He added, "I'm not in a situation to see who is doing what, but rather tending to [Nate] and making sure he gets back on track."
