Perez Hilton Wins Lawsuit Against Samantha Ronson

Superior Court Judge Elihu M. Berle has awarded Perez Hilton $85,000 to cover his legal costs in a case filed by Samantha Ronson. The singer/songwriter—a.k.a. the daughter of glam-rock guitarist Mick Ronson, younger sister of superstar DJ Mark Ronson, and stepdaughter of Foreigner's own Mick Jones—sued the gossip blogger (real name: Mario Lavandeira) last year. Apparently she was unhappy over a posting that referred to another Web site and suggested she planted cocaine in Lindsay Lohan's car before she crashed into a Beverly Hills tree last May. Judge Berle dropped Ronson's case in November, saying free speech rights protected him. Ronson's attorney, David M. Bass, is currently weighing his options for further legal actions.

"Perez Hilton will take steps to make sure every dime is collected," his lawyer, Bryan J. Freedman, said in a statement. "This should make one careful before filing a lawsuit against him."
