EMI Readies Radiohead Collection Behind Band's Back

Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien has revealed EMI's plans for releasing a greatest hits record from the band despite their disapproval. Speaking to The Strombo Show in Canada, he said, "They're planning to do a greatest hits for April, May to coincide with our [spring/summer] tour. That's an interesting one. We won't be doing any promotion for that, obviously."

Drummer Phil Selway also commented on the collection in the Trinity College Dublin student magazine Analogue, sighing and explaining, "It's well within [EMI's] rights to do it. So we'll have to see."

Radiohead's old label first made headlines in late '07 by releasing a box set of the band's back catalogue without their permission. Their ATO-assisted LP, In Rainbows, is currently No. 15 on Billboard's Top 200 chart.
