Lil Wayne Pleads Not Guilty To Felonies
An Arizona jury indicted Lil Wayne on numerous drug and weapon-related charges this past Friday. The 25-year-old rapper (born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) pleaded not guilty to possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Carter's attorney, James Tilson, said his world tour would continue despite a March 7 status hearing date.U.S. Border Patrol officers pulled over Carter's tour bus on January 22 and found such incriminating items as nearly four ounces of marijuana, just over an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of Ecstasy, various forms of drug paraphernalia, and a .40-caliber pistol registered to Carter. (He has a concealed weapon permit in Florida.) They then arrested him and several associates.
