The Police Ponder One Last Tour Leg
Sources close to The Police have told Billboard.com that their string of summer dates will indeed be their last. According to the report, thirty or so amphitheater/arena gigs are planned for May and July in North America (supported by Elvis Costello & the Imposters), with a European run of 15 cities pegged for June. Around half of the North American shows will be played in places the band missed last year.If this is indeed the end for the Police, they are certainly going out on a high note—more than three million concertgoers and a $340 million gross have made the Police reunion a likely contender for one of the top five highest-grossing tours of all time.
