R.E.M. Go the Facebook Route With New Record
R.E.M.'s latest record will be the first major disc to debut on Facebook a week before its official release. All of Accelerate's 11 tracks will be available for streaming on March 24 through iLike, a common social network widget."I think you can either go with it or sit back and watch it happen, and I would rather be out on the field than in the bleachers," frontman Michael Stipe explained to Billboard.com. "It was one of those ideas that was presented to us and it seemed like a good one so we ran for it."
