Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Leticia filed for the legal name change of their daughter Miley—you know, that Hannah Montana girl—on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Born Destiny Hope Cyrus, she hopes to now "make her commonly used name the same as her legal name." The pop star first mentioned her name switch in January, saying Miley comes from the "Smiley Miley" nickname her father gave her as a baby. According to TMZ, a public notice of Cyrus' name change will be made once it's official.
In related news, Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus will host the 2008 CMT Awards in Nashville on April 14, and start shooting The Hannah Montana Movie this spring
