Five hundred lucky Coachella campers will have the chance to board a free festival-bound Amtrak train this year—one that departs Los Angeles' Union Station on Thursday, April 24, and returns from Indio, CA, on Monday, April 28. Reservations for the "Coachella Express" are available on a first-come, first-served basis through Coachella.com.
"I think it's the first time (Amtrak has) has ever done anything like this for a music festival," Goldenvoice president Paul Tollett. the festival's promoter, told Billboard. "Anything we can do on a big level is what we're pushing for."
In other Coachella news, Aphex Twin and Goldfrapp were recently added to this year's lineup, adding some much-needed heft to the somewhat controversial headliner billing of Jack Johnson.
