Lil Wayne will release Tha Carter III, the final volume of a planned trilogy, on May 13 through Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Motown. The first single from the effort, "Lollipop," has already hit radio stations in major markets—drawing spins on the strength of its Jim Jonsin production, a guest spot from Static and Wayne's atypical word play.
Wayne's last album, Tha Carter II, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was hailed as a "historic" release by none other than The New York Times.
