Mariah Carey Trumps Elvis Track Record
The chart-topping status of Mariah Carey's current single, "Touch My Body," has pulled her in front of Elvis Presley for the record of most No. 1 Billboard singles. She is now second to some band by the name of the Beatles. They're sitting quite uneasily at the top of the heap with 20 No. 1's."I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world," Carey told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "That's a completely different era and time ... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."
"Touch My Body" is the first single off Carey's April 16 album, E=MC2. According to Carey, "It's like the emancipation of Mariah Carey to the second power and beyond … I want to encourage anyone else out there who feels like maybe they can't overcome an obstacle, I feel like I'm living proof … never lose your faith. I'm seriously a grateful individual right now."
