Feist Takes Home Five Junos

Sunday night's Juno Awards might as well have been dubbed Feist Night, what with the five trophies Leslie Feist took home including single, ("1234"), album (The Reminder), artist and songwriter of the year.
"This was a good event and it was a nice marker for a year—a nice recognition for everyone who's out there, sweating blood and tears," Feist said in a post-win statement. "It's a nice moment but I don't know that music is meant to be a competition."
Feist's impressive Juno showing is no surprise. Thanks to the inclusion of "1234" in an iPod ad and the sheer strength of The Reminder's songs, the album sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. and the single peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's list of Hot Digital Songs. Feist also earned nominations at the Grammy and Brit awards.
Another major Juno success story was Blue Rodeo, a Canadian institution that won best adult alternative album (Small Miracles) and best video ("C'mon"), bringing their career Juno tally to 10 trophies.
