Elvis Costello Grabs TV Gig

Elvis Costello has signed on to host a new Sundance Channel show called Spectacle: Elvis Costello With… Executive produced by none other than Sir Elton John, the show will will also air on CTV in Canada and Channel 4 in the UK. And in a philanthropic move, a portion of its proceeds will go straight to The Global Fund's AIDS relief work program in Africa.

According to an elaborate statement by Costello, he's "not interested in extracting some dark secret. I'd rather hear about a bright secret, a deep love or a curiosity that might be otherwise obscured by fame. This is a wonderful opportunity to talk in complete thoughts about music, movies, art, or even vaudeville, then frame it with unique and illustrative performances."

Costello fans also have a certain Momofuku record to look forward to, as it gets released on vinyl through Lost Highway on April 22. Contrary to popular belief, a CD version is also being pressed for May 6.
