Eric Avery Rejoins Jane's Addiction For a Minute
Bassist Eric Avery—who just released his solo debut, Help Wanted, on Dangerbird Records—has announced his plans to rejoin Jane's Addiction for the first-ever U.S. NME Awards. The band will be presented with a "Godlike Genius Award" at the event on April 23 at Los Angeles' El Rey Theatre, and it'll play three songs with the original lineup of Avery, frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, and drummer Stephen Perkins."I've chosen to reject the prospects of reuniting in the past for personal and philosophical reasons," Avery said in a statement. "I have always considered reunions to be a way to make a quick buck, and it sells short my own experience of it the first time around. The reason I started to even consider this is because it's honoring the past instead of trying to recreate it."
