A Monk and a "Hardbreaker"

Model/actress/singer Sophie Monk, a recent fixture in the weekly gossip tabloids after her split with fiancée, Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, has found a positive way to recover from her own personal "hardbreak." The actress, who has enjoyed parts in films such as Click and Sex and Death 101, has signed on to star as Lindsay Greene in the chick flick Hardbreakers, an indie comedy about—what else?—two hot single gals immersed in the Los Angeles dating scene. What's that sound? Oh right, it's thousands of dudes running for cover to avoid having to take their GFs to this flick.

Hardbreakers will be directed by newcomer Leah Sturgis, who also wrote the film's screenplay. It's like Sex and the City, only in a different city, on a different coast and with much younger actresses.
