Longtime E Street Keyboardist Danny Federici Dies
Danny Federici, Bruce Springsteen's right-hand keyboardist since the late '60s, died at New York's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center yesterday. He was 58. The fleet-fingered player had battled melanoma for three years and last played with the E Street Band on March 20 in Indianapolis."Danny and I worked together for 40 years," Springsteen wrote in a statement on his Web site. "He was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much ... we grew up together."
Springsteen concerts with the E Street Band that were planned for tonight (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and tomorrow (Orlando) have been postponed.
