Ray Charles' Children Seeking Investigation, Audit

Ray Charles' 12 children have accused his longtime manager, Joe Adams, of mismanaging the soul singer's estate and tarnishing his legacy. As a result, they're asking California's attorney general, the Los Angeles County prosecutor's office and the FBI to launch a formal investigation and audit of Charles' estate and trusts.

"The biggest issue with me is disrespect for the family and kids," Robert Robinson, one of Charles' sons, told the Associated Press. "If you respect a man and his work, then respect his kids. His blood is flowing through our veins."

According to AP's report, Charles' recordings are valued at around $25 million, and he's also worth another $50 million from securities, real estate and other assets. His kids would like to control how his name and image is used as a result, as Adams was not left anything in Charles' will. He did violate several state laws, however; at least according to court documents filed by Mary Anne Den Bok, the mother of Charles' youngest child.
