Rock the Bells Tour Announces Summer Lineup
There's no Rage Against the Machine this time around, but this summer's traveling Rock the Bells festival has secured quite a lineup including appearances by A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Mos Def, De La Soul, Rakim and a recently reunited Pharcyde. "They asked me, and I immediately decided to do it," Q-Tip told Billboard.com. "With the amazing lineup, Rock the Bells is definitely this summer's must see show. Plus, Rock the Bells has given me the opportunity to reunite with my legendary cohorts—Ali [Shaheed Muhammad] and Phife [Dawg]—and premiere my latest material from 'The Renaissance.'""Our thought is that we always want to put together a well-rounded bill that represents a lot of different facets of live hip-hop," added Rock the Bells founder Chang Weisberg of Guerilla Union promotions.
He's got that right, as Spank Rock, Santogold, Method Man & Redman, Raekwon and Ghostface, and more are also confirmed for different dates of the tour, which runs from a July 19 date in Chicago through an August 30 stop in Vancouver.
