Bill Cosby, a comedy Renaissance man who has juggled stand up, a sitcom, multiple films, authored several hilarious books, fathered half a dozen kids, peddled Jello pudding and earned an Ed.D degree over the years, has agreed to appear in Robert Townsend's forthcoming documentary, Why We Laugh: Black Comedians on Black Comedy.
The doc's cast reads like a "who's who" of black comedy, featuring forward thinkers and comedy geniuses like Chris Rock, Steve Harvey, Katt Williams and Paul Mooney.
The film will explore all the elements of black comedy such as its cultural influence, social impact and will prominently feature the comedians who shaped the genre through the years.
