At the beach, on the freeway and in the kitchen, the singer lists albums to satisfy any setting
Guest Collector: Tristan Prettyman
Singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman has put together a strong bid for So Cal's next poster child. The San Diego native spent her youth conquering the Del Mar surf, and modeling Roxy surfware, before picking up her father's guitar and trying her hand at music. She's gone on to construct a sound that mixes the lyrical emotion of Ani DiFranco with the laid back vibe of fellow beach guru Jack Johnson. The result is accessible, yet undeniably catchy, acoustic-pop that has made its way into a number of independent films and propelled her debut full length, Twentythree, to number 24 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.Tristan's latest album, Hello, looks to push this successful recipe even further, as she gets set to take off on an international tour that hits Japan next month. Tristan was kind enough to take time off from promotion and traveling to let us in on of some of her favorite albums, and reveal just how far her influences stretch from the West Coast sands.
