Ray Liotta "Reports" for Duty
Wiseguy Ray Liotta will be forever associated as mobster-turned-snitch Henry Hill from Goodfellas. But Liotta has always refused to be typecasted and has accepted a role as a detective in the goofball comedy Observe and Report. The comedy's cast includes lava-hot, Judd Apatow go-to guy Seth Rogen, Michael Pena, Anna Faris and TV star Jesse Plemons of Friday Night Lights fame.
Rogen will play a "rent-a-cop," the head of security at a local mall who thinks his job is way more important than it really is. He goes head to head with the local "real" police. Liotta will play Rogen's nemesis, while Pena and Plemons will portray two of Rogen's troops. Faris, of course, plays a store clerk who is the object of Rogen's affections.
Production begins this week. It's good to see Pena, who has mostly serious roles to his credit in films like Babel , Crash and World Trade Center, let loose and have a little fun in the goofy comedy sphere.
