Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt Join Catherine Keener in indie dramedy

    Family, death and real estate

Amanda Peet and Oliver Platt have teamed up with Catherine Keener for a new dramatic comedy written by Nicole Holofcenter, a writer/director known for women-centric films that focus on the complex bonds and friendships between the fairer sex. Rebecca Hall will also star in the film.

The as-yet-untitled film will be issued through Sony Pictures Classics and will begin shooting in New York in May. The story arc is about real estate, family and death. Keener, who had a focal role in Holofcenter's Friends With Money, stars as a woman who lives with her husband (Platt) next door to an elderly woman. The pair are waiting for the old woman to pass away so they can reclaim her apartment, which they also happen to own. Keener's character ends up forging an unlikely friendship with the woman's granddaughters, played by Peet and Hall. The plot is "vintage" Holofcenter and will surely attract the ladies to the multiplex.
