'The Stranger' Gets 30th Anniversary Treatment

Billy Joel's 1977 classic, The Stranger, will be reissued in two bonus-packed editions on July 8. Available as a 2 CD Legacy Edition and 2 CD/1 DVD limited edition, the remastered album will be backed by a complete concert from Carnegie Hall and (in the case of the limited edition) a mix of promo videos and performances from the BBC show "Old Grey Whistle Test." The 60-minute Joel appearance was aired just once on the UK's BBC2 station.

Oh, did we mention that the limited deluxe edition also includes a 48-page booklet featuring rare photos and liner notes from longtime Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke? Well, it does. (The Legacy version only includes 24 pages of photos and commentary.)
