    Brian De Palma's "Fury" Resurrected

    Horror film gets re-imagined

The Fury, the 1978-released supernatural horror flick directed by noted American director Brian De Palma, is getting the remake treatment that so many classic Hollywood screamers have received in recent years. Fox 2000 will "re-imagine" the mind-over-matter classic for the new millennium with a pair of writers, Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman, leading the charge.

The original was based on John Farris' 1976 novel of the same name, and that film featured Amy Irving, Kirk Douglas and John Cassavettes in the cast. The powers of a telekinetic girl, and the government's interest in them, were at the center of the 30-year-old thriller's action.

The new and improved version will focus on a telekinetic man whose ability to move things with his mind causes the government to kidnap him with the intention of using him for his power. If you are suspicious of authority and of your country's leadership, then this film won't do anything to quell your conspiracy theories and fears!
