Tom Hanks and Ron Howard Reunite

Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are back together again. This time, the actor and director, both of which got their show biz start on zany '80s sitcoms, reteam for Angels & Demons, the prequel to both the blockbuster book and the 2006 film version of The Da Vinci Code.

Angels & Demons will once again find Hanks stepping into the sensible shoes of Robert Langdon, the religious art historian who becomes entrenched in mysterious intellectual battles with shadowy sects of the Catholic Church and the Illuminati. Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer, who was a big star in her native land, appearing on the television program In Treatment which has been adapted by HBO in the US, before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a Hollywood film career, will potray Italian scientist Vittoria Vetra, the female lead. Careful viewers will recall Zurer from roles in 2005's Munich and this year's Vantage Point.
