British melancholy pop-rock giants Coldplay are reemerging from their three-year hiatus with Vida La Vida, their fourth studio album, produced by the enigmatic and prolific Brian Eno, who is known mostly for his work in '70s glam rock outfit Roxy Music and his ambient electronica. To celebrate (and heighten) the buzz for their June 17 release, Coldplay have announced that they will be giving away the album's first single "Violet Hill" for one week only—a week before the song will be available at digital retailers. The single will be available at coldplay.com beginning Tuesday April 29 at 7:15 AM EDT.

But, that's not all! To further entice fans, Coldplay will also be playing two free shows, one in the U.S. and one in the UK. The band's U.S. show will be at New York's Madison Square Garden on June 23 (their London show takes place June 16 at Brixton Academy). Fans can check coldplay.com starting tomorrow to find out how to win tickets.
