Hippiefest Returns
The third annual Hippiefest has announced its lineup, including Jack Bruce of Cream, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Janis Ian, the Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, and more. The month-long traveling festival will hit 22 cities between July 11 (Phoenix's Dodge Theatre) and August 10 (the Pompano Beach Ampitheatre in Florida), with tickets ranging in price between $25 and $75. Complete details are available at hippiefest.net."For years I've been wanting to put out a socially (conscious) show, because our times are similar to my childhood, which was in the '60s," concert producer Tony Ludwig told Billboard.com, adding that organizations like Greenpeace and Get Out the Vote would also be involved. "There are so many concerts out there that don't make a social statement. It's important to be aware of who we are and what we're doing as a country. Sometimes the best way to do it is through a concert where you have a lot of people together."
