Neil Young Unleashes Huge Archive on Blu-Ray Discs
Neil Young confirmed the details behind his Blu-Ray collection at a Sun Microsystems Inc. press conference yesterday in San Francisco. The 10-disc set will come out this fall through Reprise/Warner Brothers and feature previously unreleased songs, videos, handwritten manuscripts, interactive menus, and more. As more content becomes available, fans will also have the ability to download songs, photos and tour info to the discs themselves, as the Blu-Ray format accepts updates over a high-speed connection."Previous technology required unacceptable quality compromises," Young said in a statement, adding that this release would cover 1963-1972 and be unveiled chronologically. ''I am glad we waited and got it right.''
