Susan Sarandon, Pierce Brosnan are "The Greatest"

Boxer Muhammad Ali was known for cockily proclaiming that he was "the greatest," but sadly the champ is not the subject of the upcoming drama dubbed The Greatest, which will feature Susan Sarandon and Pierce Brosnan in the cast.

Sarandon and Brosnan will play parents grieving over the loss of their teenaged son. They are enveloped in chaos after a young girl arrives on the scene. Shooting begins this summer on the East Coast. The film will be directed by Shana Feste in her directorial debut. Feste also wrote the screenplay.

In other Sarandon/Brosnan news, the actress just finished her work in The Lovely Bones, based on the best-selling novel, while the actor can be seen yukking it up in this summer's big screen version of the Broadway smash Mamma Mia!. This duo is growing older gracefully and proving that the best roles aren't only written for the hottest, youngest actors.
