Dreyfuss Close to Getting VP Stripes

Richard Dreyfuss is in the final stages of talks to play the role of oft-criticized Vice President Dick Cheney in director Oliver Stone's upcoming George W. Bush biopic, W, which takes a long, hard look at the current President's controversial administration.

Josh Brolin is set to star as the President. Elizabeth Banks will portray First Lady Laura Bush, with Thandie Newton as Bush's right hand woman, Condoleezza Rice, in what could be a career-defining role.

The film begins shooting in Louisiana this month and is already generating a plethora of publicity, since Stone hopes to release the film before Bush even leaves office in early 2009.
