Heath Ledger Scholarship Fund Established
The memory of Oscar-nominated Aussie actor Heath Ledger will continue to live on thanks to a scholarship fund that has been set up in his name. The fund has been established by Australians in Film, a Los Angeles-based company of which Ledger was an ambassador. Each year, the scholarship will be presented to young Australian actors looking to make a go of it in the United States. The fund is supported by Ledger's family.
Ledger can be seen this summer in a hotly anticipated posthumous appearance as Batman's creepy nemesis The Joker in The Dark Knight. Judging from the scintillating trailers, Ledger's interpretation of the character was nothing short of superb.
