Beverly Hills Cop IV On the Way
Axel Foley will be dusting off his detective badge and his gun. That's right, Eddie Murphy will be reprising the role that made him a movie superstar in the fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise. Beverly Hills Cop IV is scheduled for a 2010 release. The franchise began in 1984 and was a huge smash that went on two spawn two sequels. The most recent BHC follow-up was Beverly Hills Cop III, which hit theaters in 1994. Paramount expects to begin production in 2009 and has hired Brett Ratner to direct. Blockbuster producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who has built an empire on glossy comedies and big action blow ups, will not be returning to produce this film.
