'Guitar Hero' Grabs Metallica For New Game
The June 29 release of "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" may not be the only band-specific branch of the video game franchise in the coming year. According to an analyst at Wedbush Morgan Securities, Activision has completed an SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) filing on behalf of the as-yet-unconfirmed title.A Billboard.com report claims the Metallica game may come out soon after the holiday season release of "Guitar Hero: On Tour"—a clear attempt at reclaiming the market share of "Rock Band."
As for the details of "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith," it features songs from the band's entire catalogue, as well as a number of Aerosmith-approved artists. And the point of the game? Ride the riffs as Aerosmith go from local Boston gigs to sold-out stadium shows.
