Black Eyed Peas Plan China Benefit
The Black Eyed Peas will perform a benefit concert for Red Cross relief efforts at China's famous Shanghai Concert Hall tonight, in hopes of raising money for survivors of last month's devastating earthquake. At least 700 VIPs and members of the media are expected at the event, which was originally intended as a concert for 100 customers of the beverage companies Pernod Ricard China and its U.K.-partner, Chivas Brothers. Hong Kong singer Karen Moklast seen in Shaolin Soccerwill also appear at the event.The earthquake hit the Sichuan province in southwestern China on May 12, leaving more than 15 million people homeless, more than 69,000 killed, and 18,000 missing.
