John Turturro Sells His "Soul"
Italian-American actor John Turturro is directing the movie version of Soul of Naples. The actor previously starred in an off-Broadway version of the play, originally titled Questi Fantasmi, by Edoardo de Filippo.Turturro will shoot the film in Naples next year, yet it will be an English language production. The story is set in 1946 and unfolds around a poor man who lives with his wife in a haunted house. Ghosts, real estate scams, and espresso are prominent themes in the play. The cast will feature a mix of Italian and American actors.
