Lil Wayne On Track For Record Sales
Rampant leaks and bootlegging can't seem to stop the breakout sales of Lil Wayne's latest LP. According to Billboard magazine, Tha Carter III has sold 423,000 copies in its first day and is on track to scan 900,000 units by the end of the week. If this happens, the disc will be the biggest sales debut of the year, on par with last year's leader—Kanye West's Graduation, which moved 957,000 in its first week.Lil Wayne's last two albums, Tha Carter and Tha Carter II, sold 1.1 and 1.4 million respective copies. His new one is expected to catapult the eccentric rapper to absolute pop stardom, however, due to mounds of positive press and the Hot 100-topping prowess of his current single, "Lollipop."
