Funnyman drops out of white witch flick
Jack Black No Longer Eating a "Man-Witch"
The supernatural comedy Man-Witch has lost its star. Funnyman Jack Black has bailed from his role in the film, which will be released by Warner Bros. While the actor's reps wouldn't comment on specifics, they did confirm his departure. Rumors have been swirling that Black's agents have preexisting beef with director Todd Phillips, which eventually lead to the star bouncing from the project. The film's premise concerns a man who realizes he has the same powers and abilities as a witch. After meeting with a coven, he attends a school that teaches witches to hone their skills. He is the only male in the class and eventually ends up as an instructor for young witches.
Filming was scheduled to begin in January and will continue as planned while the producers look for a replacement.
