Once-Engulfed Hendrix Guitar Up For Auction
Jimi Hendrix's most famous guitar—a '65 Fender Stratocaster, the one he set on fire at the London Astoria on March 31, 1967—will be auctioned off this summer after being kept in storage for the past 40 years.According to NME.com, the rock 'n' roll artifact is expected to fetch about £250,000, a number that may rise after the axe appears on the cover of Guitar and Bass Magazine. The issue is set to hit stands on June 20 and feature an interview with Hendrix's former manager, Tony Garland.
