Conor Oberst Confirms World Tour

Conor Oberst and his "Mystic Valley Band" have announced a slew of shows that run from a two-night stint in São Paulo, Brazil (July 16-17) to a pair of gigs in Sydney, Australia (October 4-5). North America will be invaded by the Bright Eyes frontman during various legs of the worldwide tour, beginning with a late July/early August run. Openers will rotate as well, including Jenny Lewis, Evangelicals and Dri(not to be confused with the punk band, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles).

Oberst's self-titled Merge debut is due out on August 4. As for who's actually in his new backing band, expect Nate Walcott of Bright Eyes, Nik Freitas, Macey Taylor (the sister of Azure Ray member Maria Taylor), Rilo Kiley drummer Jason Boesel, and Taylor Hollingsworth.
