    Oasis Renews Sony BMG Deal

While many artists have been going the DIY route lately, Oasis has added three more albums to its long-running deal with Sony BMG. The profit-sharing agreement allows the Brit-pop legends to release music through its own Big Brother label, with Sony BMG handling worldwide distribution and marketing.

"Oasis are in complete control of their destiny and could have chosen to sign with anyone, or even go it alone, so I am delighted that they have chosen to continue to work with us," Sony BMG Music Entertainment U.K. chairman/CEO Ged Doherty told Billboard.com. Alex McKinlay of Oasis' management team added, "This allows the band to take advantage of all the opportunities presented by the new business models available today as well as remaining totally in control of their own destiny."

A new Oasis album—their first since 2005's Don't Believe the Truth—is expected before the end of the year, with a short North American tour also happening later this summer.
