William Hurt, Amber Heard, Zach Gilford Float Down "The River Why"
William Hurt, Amber Heard, and Zach Gilford have all joined the cast of The River Why, the film adaptation of the 1983 Sierra Club novel of the same name by David James Duncan. Duncan is an American novelist known for repetition of themes including religious mysticism and fishing in his printed works.The River Why is a coming of age story about a man named Gus and his search for an elusive rainbow trout, which subsequently turns into a quest for self-knowledge. Gilford will portray Gus, with Hurt playing his father. Heard will play a tomboy and a fly-fisher who is also Gus' love interest. Shooting begins imminently in Oregon.
